April 23rd 2026 Update

Hello everyone,
I would like to provide a brief update on recent bargaining sessions.
On Thursday, April 16, we concluded discussions on all proposal packages and transitioned to the monetary package. The PSSD Board presented its initial offer, and, under the guidance of our CUPE National Representative, Marcia Sielski, we began a detailed review of the proposal.
On Tuesday, April 21, we presented our counteroffer to the Board. We believe this proposal is fair and equitable for all classifications within Local 4254. The Board has taken our counteroffer under advisement and is reviewing it with their team.
We are scheduled to meet with the Board again next Monday and Tuesday. We remain hopeful that we will have an offer to present to the membership in the near future.
Please continue to follow our social media channels and newsletters for important updates.
Shawn Olson
President, Local 4254

November 2025 Update

Hello everyone,
This is a quick update to let you know where we are in the bargaining process. I will continue to provide these updates as negotiations progress.

Friday, November 21
We met with the School Board Negotiating Committee and exchanged proposals. We were able to make progress on several proposed contract changes from both sides. Overall, the atmosphere in the room was positive.

Wednesday, November 26

We resumed discussions from the previous week and worked through many more proposed changes. There are still a few outstanding items that require further attention before we can move on to the financial portion of negotiations. The overall mood remains positive, and I believe both sides feel that progress is being made.

Our next scheduled meeting is not until January 2026, which gives us time to review the proposals and ensure we are satisfied with our current position before then.

In solidarity,
Shawn Olson – President
